Apatite Goddess Amulet Necklace - SOLD

This vintage goddess amulet from India has a rounded, somewhat asymmetrical shape that really asked to have the freeform shapes of these tumbled apatite paired with it. You can see how the character in these 143 carats (complete with their inclusions) matches that of the amulet. Tiny hematite beads and vintage Indian silver beads are used throughout the necklace, including the charm by the Balinese silver clasp. I left the patina darker on this piece, because I liked the way it shows its age. I can, however, polish it brighter if you prefer. You can see how dark the amulet was originally in the photos below, which also shows the silver ring attached to the right bail (that I left intact). Matching earrings made from the same gem strand and vintage silver beads are photographed and available below. They add just the right amount of color and motion. The post tops have a rope edge that echoes the "temple" shaped frame immediately surrounding the goddess. The overall shape of the amulet is called the "yoni" shape, and is a representation of the divine feminine. The earrings are $10 less when purchased with the necklace, which is 18" long. Black Moonstone & Pearl Bhumiya Raj Hero Necklace - NEW

It's always a joy when something you've worked with for decades can still take your breath away. When I saw these black moonstones, I knew I had to have them. These 27 carats of faceted oval moonstone are paired with a beautifully aged and rounded amulet featuring the Bhumiya Raj Hero. He represents protection of home, family, and possessions. (Plus, I love anything with a horse :-) The dark iridescent pearls, tiny faceted garnets, and Balinese silver accents add so much dimension to this piece. The more you look, the more you see. Chrysoprase Bhumiya Raj Hero Necklace - NEW

The Bhumiya Raj Hero was once a mortal, who died defending the villagers and their land. He is now revered as a god, and it is believed that his spirit rides nightly to protect homes, families, and possessions. This very handsome amulet with our hero atop his horse is paired with 69 carats of graduated color chrysoprase, and meticulously hand-crafted silver beads and toggle clasp from Bali. Pink Pearl & Garnet Lakshmi Silver Amulet Necklace - NEW

This necklace is a feminine frolic. Normally, I choose more naturally colored pearls, but there was something about these pink Biwa-style pearls that caught my eye. So, imagine my glee when I found this amulet of Lakshmi, the goddess of feminine beauty and prosperity, to pair with them. This amulet appears to have once had Ganesha sitting next to her at some point in the past, but it likely got damaged and refashioned into it's current "incarnation" (couldn't resist ;-) What's great about that is that it's age has worn it smooth so it's luster is actually quite comparable to the pearls. Then I added 4.5 carats of purplish-pink garnet in two different sizes, and "frosted" this whole confection with lots of pretty Balinese silver. Plus, there's the whole thing about how Lakshmi actually looks like a little mermaid with her trident - too adorable! Matching earrings are available and photographed below. 16.5" long. Poppy Jasper & Garnet Vishnu's Footprint Amulet Necklace

In my sixteen years of collecting, out of the thousands of amulets I've seen, this is the only Vishnu's Footprints amulet I've seen with only one foot -- so of course, I had to have it. If it's beautiful or rare, I'm interested; but if it's beautiful AND rare, then it's a must-have! Vishnu is a symbol of love, truth and mercy; and is the supreme creator in Hinduism. This very unusual amulet is paired with 172 carats of faceted poppy jasper, 16 carats of deep red sparkly garnets, and Balinese silver accents throughout. Iolite Seven-Mothers-and-a-Guardian Necklace

I guess you could say I have a "weakness" for dangles, but I can't help it. Look how exotic and delightful they are! This petite vintage amulet depicts Seven-Mothers-and-a-Guardian. It is worn for protection, but I have to admit that it feels like camaraderie, too, especially since this image is also known as Seven Sisters. A nice reminder that we are never truly alone. The gemstones I swoon for... the 26 carats of faceted iolite have been arranged so that the color gradually shifts back and forth from light to dark -- an effect produced by very carefully sorting all 168 tiny little gemstone beads. Schwew! There is a larger iolite charm by the Balinese silver toggle clasp so you'll look fabulous from every angle. 17" long. (#N380) $195

Red Jasper Bhumiya Raj Hero Amulet Necklace

The central figure in this very interesting amulet is the Bhumiya Raj Hero, who protects home and family. He is shown astride his horse, weapons in hand, ready to defend his believers from harm. What makes this amulet extraordinary are the "added" symbols - a collection like which I have never seen. In the upper left is a Sun (the Sun god, Surya, is a giver of life). In the upper right is a crescent Moon, and in the lower right is a cobra, considered a symbol of Shiva. It appears that in the lower left there was once something there, but we are left to only wonder as it has been lost to time. The amulet is in the traditional "temple" shape, and its angular lines are repeated in the geometric shapes of the large red jasper beads. Smaller jasper beads and Balinese silver accents complete the necklace portion. The clasp is a sturdy box clasp with safety latch. A real conversation piece. 18.25" long. (#N477) $425

"Samudra" Iolite & Seven Fishes Necklace

"Samudra" means "Ocean" in ancient Sanskrit. These 59 carats of faceted iolite combine with these seven lucky fishes to create this dramatic necklace. The fish are lucky, because they are vintage silver, and somehow, over the years, managed to stay together. I couldn't separate them now, so this spectacular creation was born. They have been in storage in a private collection here in the States for many years and were already vintage when they were purchased in India many years ago. This kind of quality is very difficult to find today. There are seven iolite gemstones in each grouping, and Balinese silver accents throughout. Iolite is also known as "water sapphire," so it really does feel like a deep ocean. Candidly, I'm a little hesitant to part with this, so purchase it only if you will LOVE it as the very special piece it is. 15.5" long. (N142) $950
