Tigereye & Bone Necklace - SPECIAL ORDER

This necklace is actually in my personal collection. Every once in a while, I find a spot in my jewelry wardrobe that's missing something. This time, it was an off-white necklace that had a certain degree of elegance to it, but was still casual enough for everyday. Already I'm surprised by how many things I can wear this with. Sagenetic Quartz Necklace with Sterling Silver Accents - NEW & SOLD

These stones tell a story, if you know how to read them. The "needles" in these quartz stones are actually black tourmaline. Because the quartz has encapsulated the tourmaline, we know that the tourmaline crystals formed first in the mineral-rich solution in which they were formed, and then the quartz crystallized around them. So cool, right? These were so interesting that I barely added anything else to the design -- just some textured sterling beads, and some tiny hematites to separate the largest stones. Rhodochrosite & Balinese Silver Necklace - NEW & SOLD

This piece is past "pretty," it is "fascinating in pink." The quality of these rhodochrosite stones just stopped me in my tracks. It is frequently confused with rhodonite (another pink stone), but rhodochrosite has more of a banded growth pattern. The meticulously crafted silver focal beads (just about impossible to find these days) required that I go waaaaay back into my inventory to find two smaller Balinese silver beads (that we personally brought back in 2006) that could "hold up" to the detail of the center beads. The faceted obsidian beads have plenty of sheen to give them life, and the off-black color picks up on the dark grey banding in the rhodochrosite. A real feast for the eyes. Then, the pièce de résistance (for me anyway) is the charm by the clasp. It looks like an other-worldly sunset. I was powerless to resist. Almost inconceivably, I also had earring posts (from a third silver source) that echo the star pattern in the focal beads. Bowenite & Hematite Necklace with Thai Silver Accents - NEW & SOLD

Bowenite is a form of serpentine that is especially clear. You sometimes see it in carved figures from Asia. You'll carve a striking figure yourself in this vibrant warm green color. Even the cut of the stones feels a bit playful. At the transition point between the bowenite and the hematite there are two Thai silver accent beads. These were made using a centuries-old technique that originated in Cambodia. They are growing harder to find, and this necklace helps to preserve the art form by supporting artists who still practice the craft. Hematite and Balinese silver add contrast and interest to the 283 carats of bowenite. Smokey Quartz & Black Chalcedony "Jenna II" Necklace - SPECIAL ORDER

The "Jenna-sis" and inspiration for this design is my very own fabulous hair stylist (Jenna Marie Hall of Jean Claude Salon). A little retro, a little dark Victorian vibe, and always with sparkle to spare. We found a winner together with this one. Three large faceted smokey quartz pendants (totaling 136 carats) and faceted black chalcedony beads (61 carats) are paired with Balinese silver and faceted hematite accents. Smokey Quartz Tassel Necklace - SPECIAL ORDER

This necklace has an unmistakable 1920's inspiration. When worn, the tassel has a sassy little swing to it that makes it very eye catching - very fun. The central stone is an elegant 41-carat faceted smokey quartz framed by Balinese silver accents. The tassel has seven strands of sterling silver chain, and is topped by a faceted black chalcedony bead, and a ring of five faceted hematite beads. The sterling chain is 26" long, and can be worn with the toggle clasp in the back or around on the side, so it can show off the gemstone flower of black chalcedony and faceted hematite. The flower adds a little surprise and a lot of charm. I have a few more of these stones, so if you have a custom length request, chances are that I can make one of these necklaces especially for You. Smokey Quartz Tassel Necklace, Longer - SPECIAL ORDER

Once I designed the smokey quartz tassel necklace above, I saw how it could look good doubled, but it needed a little extra length, so I added a couple inches more chain, and I added a ring below the smokey quartz to thread the toggle through for a really secure hold. The chain portion of this necklace is 27.75" long, and can be adjusted so that the clasp is in the back, but I think the flower is so pretty up front. This necklace can be worn doubled as shown, or long like the necklace photographed above, so it's like having two necklaces in one. Kama Sutra Necklace

Miniature hand-painting from a scene in the Kama Sutra, an amorous couple enjoying their hookahs, and each other. This painting was originally one of many hand-paintings that comprised a deck of playing cards. Various colored and rutilated quartzes with tiny carnelian and silver accents in between. 20" long. "Clair IV" 7-Stone Rock Crystal Quartz Necklace - SPECIAL ORDER

"Clair" is the French word for "clear" and these 73 sparkling carats really deliver! They are faceted into an unusual "twist" cut that really catches the light in every direction. They echo the silvery twists of the sterling silver chain. The length can be adjusted easily by simply hooking the clasp into different links. An eighth twist crystal is at the end of the chain, so it's very pretty from the back, too. Balinese silver accents are used throughout. Up to 20" long, or as short as you dare. "Reef Romance III" Necklace with White Coin Pearls - SPECIAL ORDER

Back by popular demand! This aquatic kiss has been a real charmer, and I'm so happy that I could find more Thai silver fish to share the love. Although this exact necklace has sold, a special order is possible. Two pure silver Thai handmade fish kissing are the focal point of this necklace. Pearls feel like such a natural choice. Balinese silver accents are used throughout, and tiny hematite beads echo the dark textures on the fish. Six vintage Thai silver accent beads are added to create an interesting pattern. Abalone & Thai Silver "Reef Romance VII" Necklace - SPECIAL ORDER

The romance continues! Abalone shell is such a natural choice for this ocean-themed design. These amorous fish are stealing a kiss beneath the waves. The fish are 99.9% pure silver from Thailand, and paired with new and vintage Thai silver beads made using a centuries-old technique that originated in Cambodia. Smaller turquoise and hematite beads add color and shine. Despite my best efforts, the photograph doesn't begin to show how lively and colorful the abalone is.
