Pure Silver Thai Flowers & Pearl Necklace - NEW

When designing this piece, I tried so many different gemstones to pair with this "bouquet" of hand-crafted flowers, but nothing was as beautiful, or as flattering, as these white freshwater pearls. This would be a perfect piece to wear to a wedding, or anytime you feel like a "Force of Femininity." It feels like a garland of flowers around the neck. There are hematite and Balinese silver accents, and a pearl charm on the clasp. The necklace has a triple toggle, so you can adjust the length. It is shown wrapped, so you can see more detail. Turquoise Heshi, Quartz, and Balinese Silver Necklace - NEW & SOLD

This necklace possesses such a bold simplicity. The center stone is a 51 carat faceted quartz framed by two Balinese silver tapers. There are 193 carats of heishi-cut turquoise beads punctuated by Balinese silver beads with the same dot motif as the tapers. There are also rope-edge spacers that echo the tapers' rope edges. I believe this necklace looks best worn at the base of the neck. The clasp is adjustable, and has a faceted rock crystal quartz charm, so you'll sparkle from every angle. Blue Pearl & Aquamarine Balinese Silver Necklace - SOLD

This photo is a little dark, because if it were any lighter, the of aquamarines would disappear - they really are the lightest shade of blue. This necklace features five blue-grey pearls, 11 carats of aquamarine, and an assortment of marvelously intricate hand-crafted Balinese silver. There is rope detailing on the bead caps, and tiny rope rings between each link. The pearls have many colors in them. Some are more green, while others are more purple. Nine Pearl & Balinese Silver Necklace

Pearls are special. They are like wearing light. In fact, there was a legend that said that pearls were formed when oysters caught moonbeams. Each of these nine lustrous pearls is framed by granulated Balinese silver of exceptional detail. The rope edge on the bead caps is repeated in the links between the pearls. Tiny hematite accents add a little sparkle along with the glow of the pearls. For variety, the back of the necklace has double strands of oxidized sterling chain. This is not only strong, but will help it tuck most comfortably under collars. There is also a rope edge detail on the toggle clasp. 18.75" long. (#N564) $250

Rhyolite & Thai Silver 25" Necklace

Rhyolite is also known as rainforest jasper, and I'm sure you can see why. These stones are so interesting that I wanted to keep the design simple, so that the beads themselves could be best appreciated. Each of these beads looks like its own little forested planet. Though these particular beads are from Australia, rhyolite is mined in several countries. In fact, it was named by a German explorer, who found it in the Rocky Mountains in the 1860's. There are even small quarries in Pennsylvania that date to prehistoric times. This necklace has 432 carats of rhyolite with small black chalcedony beads and Balinese silver accents between them. The Thai silver tapers (dividing the larger from the smaller rhyolite beads) are made only in Surin Province. Alas, my source for these no longer exists as fewer and fewer of the rice farmers do this work. 24.75" long. (#N521) $245

Jade Phoenix & Jasper Necklace - SPECIAL ORDER

Here we have a wonderful fenghuang, or Chinese phoenix, which represents high virtue and grace. Below her is a shou symbol for longevity. To the right is the symbol for good fortune. To the left looks like the symbols for the moon and the sun, but I'm unsure. If you know, please write me. What first attracted me to this piece was not just the details within the carving, but the mix of green and rust tones within the stone. The pendant is paired with 73 carats of faceted jasper with tiny faceted hematites and Balinese silver accents throughout. There is a faceted jasper charm on the last link of the triple toggle. African "Batik" Bone Necklace - SOLD

These African folk art beads are made by painting a resist on bone, and darkening the remainder. Wooden centers are handcrafted for each bead. Red coral in between adds some spice. Of course, Thai silver, hematite discs, tiny red jaspers, and bone beads (from a contemporary Himalayan mala) make this necklace a true global effort! Sodalite, Lapis & Chalcedony Longevity Necklace - SOLD

Five hand-carved sodalite beads feature Chinese dragons and shou symbols. Both represent longevity, and the dragons also represent benevolence, prosperity, and the renewal of life. The ancient Chinese believed that dragons brought rain, good harvests and fertility. Between each carved bead is a deep blue lapis lazuli bead with wonderful pyrite inclusions. The white chalcedony beads at the back give this necklace the same color palette as the revered blue-and-white porcelain that the Chinese are so famous for. Hematite discs used throughout give subtle metallic punctuation to the design. The toggle clasp is handcrafted Balinese silver, and there is a lapis charm by the clasp to add even greater allure. "Sweet Seventeen" Pearl & Sterling Silver Necklace - SOLD

An unexpected mix of exceptionally large freshwater pearls and heavy silver chain. Only a few years ago, this size of pearl was available only from South Sea oysters. These are monsters! This piece is seventeen inches long with seventeen links of each side of the pearls. Handcrafted silver accents flank each pearl and the quartz gemstones by the hook clasp. It is fabulous on. Fluorite & Indian Agate Thai Silver Necklace - NEW & SOLD

When I was looking for gemstones, these large fluorite beads (123 carats) really caught my eye. Then I found these agates from India (52 carats) that had the same subtle blend of colors. Then I asked, "How can I make it really special?" I placed an order for hand-crafted silver beads and tapers, and patiently waited for them to arrive from Thailand. "Naledi V" Botswana Agate & Smokey Quartz Necklace - SPECIAL ORDER

I was so taken with this Botswana agate that while designing this piece I knew I had to make more than one (because I wanted one, too!) This is the fifth one, and they find homes so fast that I still don't have one of my own. (Soon though... :-) A dear client purchased the first one, and she helped me name the piece. "Naledi" means "Star" in Setswana (a language spoken in Botswana), and the 154 carats of agate and over 48 carats of smokey quartz surely do sparkle! This necklace is so neutral itself that it looks great with many different colors. Wear it with anything you'd wear a brown or grey belt with. It looks incredibly rich against pale neutrals, and the unique patterns in each bead are really showcased. It can be worn long at 39.5", or doubled with the included "S" hook. Doubled, it can be worn with the shorter strand at either 19.5" with the longer one just below, or it can also be doubled with a shorter strand of 16.5" with the longer strand significantly below (or even between the two - you'll see in the photos below). 39" Thai Silver Necklace - SPECIAL ORDER

The twenty-eight Thai silver beads in this necklace were made using a generations-old technique of wrapping hand-stamped pure silver over a natural pine pitch core. Each bead is like a tiny work of art, and this necklace helps to keep that art alive. It is unbelievably wearable. I have a necklace like this in my personal collection, and I wear it ALL the time. Perfect to wear long by itself or layered with shorter necklaces; or it can be doubled using the included "S" hook clasp. The shapes in this necklace are primarily cylinders and diamonds. The latter look like the tiniest silver throw pillows. Can you tell I'm enchanted? Hematite accents are used throughout. 39.5" long. Mother Nature is such a marvel. This necklace has a full circle of various shades of rultilated quartz briolettes. Between each one are tiny hematite beads and Balinese silver accents.
