Large Baroque Pearl Pendant on Double Sterling Chain - NEW & SOLD

Can an oyster be independent-minded? I think the darling mollusk that produced this 17mm wide by 24mm high (read as "positively massive") pearl would say Yes! The shape is highly baroque, meaning that it is highly irregular, which sounds a bit impolite considering the creativity this oyster used. With the faceted smokey quartz bead above, the pendant almost looks like a woman with a swaying gown (but maybe that's just me using my creativity). Whatever the case may be, this piece is stunning, and shall forever be one-of-a-kind as no two baroque pearls are ever quite the same. Thank goodness for culturing; there was a time not too long ago that such a pearl would cost a true fortune. Matching earrings are available below. The toggle clasp can be worn at the back or the side, and has a pretty faceted smokey quartz charm next to it. 18" long. (#N642, 3/19 J.S.) $350

Labradorite Pendant & Freshwater Pearl Silver Necklace - NEW & SOLD

A lustrous strand of baroque freshwater pearls with iridescent overtones of green and gold that pick up on the flashes of color in the 47 carat faceted labradorite pendant. There are oodles of Balinese silver accents used throughout, including a custom fitted bead cap above the pendant, and a granulated charm by the clasp. And, of course, we can't forget the tiny faceted hematite beads to bring a subtle sparkle. 19.25" long. (#N616, 11/18) $185

Hebron Glass & Antique Yemeni Silver Necklace - SOLD

This necklace is such an extraordinary mix. The focal bead is antique Yemeni silver that is signed by the silversmith (a close-up can be seen in the photos below). The ten Hebron glass beads have a subtle shift in color from more blue to more green. Vintage silver from India divides the antique Hebron glass from the 39 carats of faceted smokey quartz. The toggle clasp and adjacent charm are both hand-crafted Balinese silver. Hematite accents are used throughout. Matching earrings are available below. Please note that this necklace is wrapped to show more detail. 21" long. (Item #N585, 1/20) $535

Hebron Glass & Tribal Silver Necklace - SOLD

This necklace was created by combining Hebron glass beads, hematite, and vintage tribal silver from India (plus a sterling toggle clasp from Bali). The aged character of the tribal silver echoes the weathered look of the Hebron glass, while the shiny hematite beads provide contrast. The necklace is actually like two necklaces, an interior and an exterior. In order not to strain the vintage silver, hematite beads are strung inside, so that each vintage bead has a little wiggle room, and does not take the weight of the other beads. The interior hematite beads also center the large holes of the Hebron glass beads. 21" long. (Item #N584, 11/19) $350

Hebron Glass & Three Vintage Indian Silver Beads Necklace - SOLD

Three vintage silver beads from India form the center of this necklace. They have a pattern to them, which reminds me of Egyptian representations of papyrus (photos of close-ups are below). The large dark beads between them (and the charm by the clasp) are 24 carats of obsidian, so that a closer look reveals their sheen. The tapers flanking the Balinese silver clasp are hand-inscribed Thai silver that echo the texture of the central beads. Hematite saucers center the 18 Hebron glass beads that are in a mix of blues and greens. Please note that this necklace is wrapped in the above photo to show more detail. 21.5" long. (#N586, 9/19 J.M.) $525

Chrysoprase Pure Thai Silver Leaf Pendant Necklace

This necklace feels tropical and summery to me. Simple and lightweight, but fresh and bright, too. I swoon for this mix of greens. There are 38 carats of chrysoprase in so many shades of green, hand-crafted Balinese silver accents, and a dyed-green chalcedony charm by the toggle clasp. Incidentally, it seems that about half the people who see this pendant think it looks more like a feather. Please regard it however it pleases you most. Matching earrings are photographed and available below. The leaves are made in Thailand using fine silver, which is 99.9% pure. All the other silver is sterling. 19 1/8" long. (#N573) $175

Cream Pearl Pendant with Seed Pearls - SOLD

This necklace has a certain preciousness to it. I think it's the tiny seed pearls that comprise the necklace portion. They just can't help but look "Old World." Add to that the detail of the hand-crafted Balinese silver accents, and you have a necklace that could have been made centuries ago (minus the super strong steel cable that it is strung on. Beautiful and beautifully engineered - like all my pieces :) The pearl is 11mm wide, and has faceted hematite and smokey quartz accents in the pendant, and a pretty white pearl charm by the hand-crafted toggle clasp. 17.5" long. (#N478, 1/18 M.M.) $195

White Pearl Pendant with Blue-grey Pearls - SOLD

This 13mm wide pearl has a cooler soft-white color that lends itself quite nicely to the blue-grey color of the small accent pearls. It is virtually encrusted with Balinese silver and gems. It has a small faceted hematite above the pearl, and it is crowned by a faceted smokey quartz with an even tinier faceted hematite. The pendant is quite the jewel itself. Balinese silver accents are used throughout, and there is a smokey quartz and pearl charm by the toggle clasp. (I have another of these soft-white pearls that I intend to pair with some dark brown iridescent pearls which are not as golden as the previous necklace. It could be made to your specified length.) This necklace is 20.5" long. (#N481, 3/18 C.S.) $225

Rock Crystal Quartz Pendant

Faceted forty-two carat quartz crystal anyone? The slightly irregular cut, in addition to the inclusions at the top of the stone, let us know that it is natural. It is paired with Balinese silver, and an oxidized silver chain to give it an old world look. Faceted hematite adds sparkle and depth of contrast next to the pendant and the sterling toggle clasp. Simple, yet dramatic. 19" long. (#N415) $175

Ryolite, Poppy Jasper & Bronzite Three-strand Necklace - SOLD

Not all ryolite is created equally, and when I saw these stones I almost gasped out loud (in retrospect, maybe I did). Ryolite is an Australian gem that is normally an attractive textured green. I had never seen these glorious brick and cream colors in it before. The stones were so interesting that I didn't want to put a pendant with them, but I did think that these 429 carats would enjoy some friends, so I paired them with brick-red poppy jasper (187 carats), and golden-speckled bronzite (44 carats). Between the ryolite beads are faceted pyrite accents, and between the jasper and bronzite are tiny faceted hematites. In fact, all of the stones are faceted which gives the piece added sparkle, especially since the only metal is around the sterling Balinese toggle clasp. Mother Nature is really showing off with these gemstones. The shortest strand is 15.75" making this necklace best for a small to medium-small neck. (#N400, 6/16) $295

Blossoming "Heart-to-Heart" Necklace - SPECIAL ORDER

These Thai silver hearts have a texture on them that makes them look like leaves, and when put back-to-back, they look like blossoms to me. It seems like a subtler way of wearing hearts, and it's so good looking on. Hematite beads of different sizes lend interest and have a tone-on-tone effect. One of the things I love about hematite is that it's dark enough to be worn with black, but because it's actually a very dark grey, it's not as stark, and can be worn with many softer shades as well. Really, it goes with everything. Balinese silver is used as accents throughout, and there is a hematite charm by the toggle clasp. This is the second version of this design I have made. This one is slightly shorter, and has three "blossoms instead of five. (You can see the first version below on this page.) Matching earrings are available below, and on page 1 of the Earrings section. 16" long. Although this exact necklace has sold, a special order is possible. (#N266, N649, 1/20) $250

Turquoise, Thai Silver and Tiger-Eye Necklace - SOLD

This combination is great fun. Big chunks of turquoise contrast with shimmery tiger-eye. Thai silver beads (made using a centuries-old technique) separate the two. Balinese silver accents and smaller tiger-eye beads punctuate the design. A pretty turquoise and tiger-eye charm is next to the hand-crafted toggle clasp. 17.5" long. (#N259) $250

'Love' Hearts Necklace - SPECIAL ORDER

This sterling silver heart pendant actually has two hearts: the one facing outwards that says "LOVE," and another facing your own heart on the reverse side (shown below). The two actually make a pleasant jingling sound when worn. The flower is carnelian and hematite, and can slide around on the chain, but can be coaxed (at least temporarily) into being a little higher on the chain, or it can rest right by the heart pendant. 18" long with sterling toggle clasp. (#N237, 4/15) $165

Blossoming "Heart-to-Heart" Necklace - SPECIAL ORDER

Despite believing that I'm not a "heart person," I must confess that these Thai silver hearts really did strike my fancy. The hearts have a texture on them that makes them look like leaves, and when put back-to-back, they look like blossoms to me. 16.75" long. (#N197) $325

Amethyst & Thai Silver "Gothic" Necklace

Vintage hand-stamped Thai silver beads combine with 21 carats of deep purple faceted amethyst. Something about the cross design on the silver beads gives this necklace the feeling that it's from the Middle Ages. Balinese silver and tiny hematite accents are used throughout. Oxidized sterling silver chain completes the dark effect. I will be making a second necklace like this with slightly smaller amethyst gemstones, so if you would like a custom length just email me, and I can give you a quote. This necklace is 18.5" long. Matching earrings are shown below, and available on page 2 of the earrings section. (#N130) $295
